Seabrook is a purpose-built, vacation beach town founded in
2004. The community is thoughtfully laid out with houses
clustered around village greens, cars and garages hidden
down back alleys, walking paths of crushed oyster shells
linking different parts of the community, and careful attention
is paid to the architecture of the houses. The houses look
like New England cottages with beautiful woodwork, gables,
shuttered windows, and large front porches. No two houses
look the same. It's a pleasant community to visit for a drive
or stroll. Community events are open to the public, such as
the annual salmon bake.
A new gourmet cafe opened recently and future plans
include shopping locations and a hotel with pool.
Several cottages nestled in the woods or set in the town are
available for rent. The entrance to the town has a nice view
of the beach filtered through an area of forest that has been
thinned. A few houses share this nice view. Trails have been
cut into the hillside to reach the beach. Attention to detail is
shown even in the trail with its gazebo, crushed oyster shells
surface, lighting, railings, and benches to rest on during the
climb back to town.
